Tara martin, Controller

Tara Martin is joining J & K Associates in a Controller role. With a passion for Accounting and helping 

businesses be the best they can be, she brings 20 years of experience in the Manufacturing, Construction, 

Insurance and the Wholesale Trade Industries. Tara’s father has owned a successful manufacturing company in 

Loveland, CO for the last 65 years. As a little girl, she grew up in the business, running around the shop and 

hanging out in the tool crib. This is where Tara also got her start in business and manufacturing, out of college, 

she worked as a Finance Manager for 10 years, running everything from the finances to production, ISO 

certifications, safety and jumping in to help in shipping and receiving and parts washing whenever it was 

needed. She understands that small business often requires multiple hats and an all-hands-on deck approach. 

She has trained with some of the best consultants in the manufacturing industry, where she learned a 

tremendous amount of what it takes to run a business, make hard decisions, and to become more profitable 

with critical tools such as job costing. Tara continued to work in the manufacturing industry for many more 

years, in addition to running her own floral and interior design studio. Tara is committed to providing J & K’s 

clients with the knowledge and experience to help them be successful in their accounting needs. 

Tara is married and has 1 son, who is studying Finance at UNC in Greeley, doing his internship at Northwestern 

Mutual and working full time. In her free time, Tara loves to use her creativity doing floral design, decorating, 

coordinating events, hosting murder mysteries and scrapbooking. Tara enjoys spending time with her husband 

hunting and trail riding on their side by side. Family and Faith are important parts of her life, she loves both 

very much!
